February 25th Neighbourhood Conference

Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Parks & Leisure Services is bringing back internationally renowned champion of neighbourhoods, Jim Diers to speak to staff and community about the power and value of neighbourhoods.

AVA will be presenting at the conference in the afternoon session. At that time the photography contest prizes will awarded.

The February 25th Neighbourhood Conference will also highlight some updates on interesting developments already taking place in our own community neighbourhoods. There will be displays by a number of community groups as well as presentations on efforts of neighbourhoods who are working together to connect and create healthier neighbourhoods.

Jim Diers is the author of Neighbor Power- Building Community the Seattle Way. He is recognized in the United States as one of the most forward thinking proponents of neighbourhoods. Jim has worked with individuals, community groups and governments throughout the States, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand to create the type of community they want to have. The Conference and Workshops are free. Plan to be inspired at the South Bonson Community Centre, Saturday February 25th from 9 am to 4 pm.
